Scripture Thought/Pensamiento de Una Escritura
As I was reading the Book of Mormon the other day these two passages stuck out to me: "And again he sath: If my people shall sow filthiness they shall reap the chaff thereof in the whirlwind; and the effect is poison. And again he saith: If my people shall sow filthiness they shall reap the east wind, which bringeth immediate destruction." (Mosiah 7:30-31). I have read this many times, but I think the current circumstances in our country with the rioting, wickedness and all that seems to go along with it, is why it struck me so this time. Consider that those that do not obey the Lord's will and choose to sin will sooner or later have a lot of problems to face in their lives. They will reap what they sow as this says and much much more. I know when I was young I always wanted to see justice done immediately to those who chose evil and wickedness. But now I feel pain and sorrow for them KNOWING that they will receive, according to this scripture and many others that back it up, exactly what they sow. And it makes me wonder why anyone would give up eternal happiness, peace and joy for a fleeting worldly pleasure of any kind. Oh, if people would only stop and weigh the consequences of their actions so much pain for so many could be avoided.
Mientras que estuve leyendo el Libro de Mormon el otro dia estos dos pasajes me toco muy fuerte: "Y tambien dice: Si mi pueblo siembra inmundicia, segara el tamo de la misma en el torbellino; y su efecto es veneno. Y dice ademas: Si mi pueblo siembra inmundicia segara el viento oriental, el cual trae destruccion inmediata."(Mosiah 7:30-31) He leido esto muchas veces, pero creo que las circunstancias en nuestro pais con tantos disturbios, maldad y todo que van con ellos, es porque me toco tan fuerte esta vez. Al pensar que ellos que no obedecen el Senor y escogen a pecar, tarde o temprano, tendran muchas problemas en sus vidas. Como dice esto, cosecharan lo que se siembran y mucho mas. Yo se cuando yo era joven yo queria justicia inmediata a los que escogieron maldad. Ahora siento dolor y tristeza por ellos SABIENDO que ellos van a recibir, de acuerdo con esta escritura y muchas otras que hablan igual, exactamente lo que se siembran. Me hace pensar porque cualquier persona cambiaria felicidad, paz y gozo eterno por un momento de placer de cualquier tipo de este mundo. Ay, si la gente solo pararian a pensar y ver las consecuencias de sus actos se podria evitar tanto dolor y sufrimiento por muchos.
