"Liken Them Unto Us"
There is scripture counsel that says we should "liken them unto us"! In other words, as we study the scriptures we should try to see how we can apply them in our own lives. I shared part of one today with family and friends that really made me think about that. It is from II Chronicles 1:10: "Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?" This was Solomon's request when he became king and, of course, the Lord blessed him according to his heart's desire and then some. But as I read that today it hit me as to how much we all need to gain wisdom and knowledge here on this earth. After all that is partly why we are here on earth. But also, Solomon's request for these qualities in his prayers pleased the Lord because he did not ask for "riches, wealth, or honour, nor for the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life;"!
