Continued Comparison
Will you allow me to delve just a bit deeper into our last week's partnership? I didn't really go into detail about the different responsibilities of the partnership, but both contributed their abilities and talents in their own specialized areas. In areas where they needed extra help or more time to work through things, they discussed it and tried to arrive at a conclusion that was satisfactory for each. It is only logical that they were not 100% alike. No one is; even twins have personality differences and abilities and likes or dislikes! So this partnership for 40 years managed to work through trials, hardships, good times, increasing wealth and success and all that goes with a business as it starts and climbs through to become relatively successful. Did not each partner experience the same ups and downs? Did not each partner have to pull their own weight and give and take to make their business continue to grow towards success? So, why, I ask, after 40 years of working through this all and finally being able to possibly see the goal they each had wanted for their business, does one partner throw his hands in the air and call it quits? Why does he walk away from everything he has learned, given, gained, earned and become? Why walk away from a goal that had been his, with his partner, from the very begining of their friendship? And why is the other partner still willing and ready to do anything it would take to reach that mutual goal? What makes the difference? Which partner are you?
