The Good, The Bad and The Ugly . . . AND The Beautiful
Think for a moment of people you really enjoy being with, like or admire! Now think of those that when you see you try to hide or turn the other way, really just don't like them, or you just don't see why they even exist! Now consider the title of this blog. Let's break it down a bit:
The Good: Do you have those people in your life or even just know some that you just think so highly of them that the only words to describe them are super positive "good" words! Is everything about them "good"?
The Bad: Do you have people in your life or know those that you would call just plain "bad"? Surely there are even more detailed bad words to describe such people, right?
How about those ugly people? Got any of those in your life? Ever seen any? And what is considered ugly? Physical outward appearance or the inner person? Could it be both?
And what about the beautiful ones? Got any special beauties you adore? Physically again? Or the inner beauty of a person? Another both on that?
Now let's combine this just a bit. Are those wonderfully good people you know and love and respect perfect? Do they ever have a bad moment? Do a bad thing? Have a bad habit? Or ARE they perfect?
How about that bad person you really struggle with? Have you ever seen any good in him? Has he ever shown a small bit of positivity in his life? Is he so totally bad that the world WOULD be better off without him?
Does that ugly person have any beauty; inside or out? And does that beauty have a few less attractive . . . okay, ugly spot in their lives?
Every person on this earth is different. Every good person has some flaws, some bad habits, some difficulties they have to work to overcome, AND if they are truly good people they will look inside themselves and recognize those issues and work to fix them.
Again, every one has differences. Even the worst bad person you know will have even some tiny little good thing about them. Sometimes you gotta look super deep, but there is usually some little good thing about even the most difficult person.
Ugly? It is well to consider the saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." You stop and think about it and I am sure you will find some small thing that is considered beautiful in even the ugliest of ducklings!!!
And again, is that beautiful person perfect? Is there no flaw in every physical aspect of their appearance? Or is that inner soul so pure and clean and perfect that not one tiny bad habit is found?
Do you see where I am going here? EVERY person on this earth, that includes you and me, has their good, their bad, their ugly and their beautiful. Let's work on seeing the good and beautiful in every one, ourselves included. And then let's try to overcome the bad and ugly, in ourselves, by setting an example for others to follow in being able to overcome their bad and ugly because our good and beautiful has had a very positive, kind, and loving influence upon them. DEAL?!?!?!
