Yellow Ribbons!!!

Do any of you remember the old song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Old Oak Tree?" I have heard it several times on the spotify music I listen to and I remembered how much I really liked that song It has a very positive meaning and outcome that, this time, reminded me of our Heavenly Father. Why? Let me share the lyrics of the song and see if you can see what I saw as I listened.

"I'm coming home, I've done my time                                                                                                                Now I've got to know what is and isn't mine                                                                                                    If you received my letter telling you I'd soon be free                                                                                        Then you'll know just what to do                                                                                                                       If you still want me, if you still want me

Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree                                                                                             It's been three long years, do you still want me?                                                                                               If I don't see a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree                                                                                                     I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me                                                                                 If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the old oak tree.

Bus driver, please look for me                                                                                                                        'Cause I couldn't bear to see what I might see                                                                                                 I'm really still in prison and my love, she holds the key                                                                                 A simple yellow ribbon's what I need to set me free                                                                                         And I wrote and told her please

Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree                                                                                              It's been three long years, do you still want me?                                                                                              If I don't see a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree                                                                                                    I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me                                                                                   If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree

Now the whole [darned] bus is  cheerin'                                                                                                              And I can't believe I see

A hundred yellow ribbons 'round the ole oak tree                                                                                             I'm comin' home.

Tie a ribbon 'round the ole oak tree (repeated several times)!

Not sure what each of you pictured as you read this! Some of you who know the song probably sang it. Normal, right? But as I listen to this song lately I felt to move it to a higher level and it truly fits. After all, we are all here on earth, in a sense, in prison or mortal probation, so to speak,  and striving to deal with all that life throws at us. And when we are called to depart this life can we say the same to our Heavenly Parents and Savior? Have we done everything we could to return to Him and see His "ole' oak tree" covered with yellow ribbons welcoming us back! Knowing that He still loves us and forgives us  because we made righteous efforts in our so called "mortal prison" to work our way back to Them! In all honesty I truly feel that the Lord will cover His "ole oak trees" with too many ribbons to count because HE DOES LOVE US and He does hold the key to freeing us from our mortal prison, IF we have put forth our effort to follow the path back to Him. I could go into  more detail comparing each line of the song to our experiences here and our return to our Heavenly Home, but I challenge you to consider it for yourself and make it an inspirational song to help you look forward to that glorious day when you see the yellow ribbons welcoming you back into the presence of those on the other side of the veil who love you so very very much!!!
