Good-bye Timothy!!

      Well, yes, this is sort of a farewell to Timothy in that this will be the last blog dealing with his negative prophesies of these the last days! But I hope that you who have read the others, and read this one as well, can see the truth in the fulfillment of his prophesies, however, sad and difficult they are.  But we do have to remember that he started these prophesies  with "that in the last days perilous times shall come". And we are definitely in the last days, not just by his prophesies that we have looked at, but many others in the scriptures have been fulfilled or are being fulfilled. And, be assured, all prophesy will be fulfilled sooner or later. But now on to Timothy' s words that I have grouped together for our last prophesy seeing fling!

     The last four I put together are "unholy, incontinent, despisers of good; lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God". I hope as you read this you could see very clear pictures of these words represent in your mind. May I just add a bit from each.

     Unholy? There are so many people in this world that hold nothing holy or sacred. Not even life itself! They just do whatever they feel like doing and they also do not want to be held accountable for their actions. We see them on the news all the time. One particular aspect of this that jumps out at me is the modern sexual revolution. At one time intimate relationships were a sacred trust between a husband and a wife. Nowadays sexual activity is right out in the open and there is nothing sacred about it to many people. It is exploited in movies, magazines, books, and  public settings with any and all things, people, animals, etc., accepted. After all, people who live this way just see it as another one of the pleasures of the natural man and it should be used however and whenever you want to.  That brings in the other statement by Timothy of "lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God". Because anyone who truly wants to know God's  purposes and rules for this particular part of life just needs to study the scriptures! The answers are there and through sincere and humble prayer those answers will be confirmed. Incontinent also goes with this for it means lack of self-restraint. And too many people seem to think that self-restraint is a bad thing. We should be able to "eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die". Sadly they will die, but they will have to fully  answer for their lack of self-control in all ways. Another very sad part of lack of self-control is that it not only destroys the person itself, but others who are around them. Abuse of all kinds is due largely to incontinence. And much of it can lead to premature death. Again, sadly, in many cases abuse victims prefer the early death to the continuing abuse. There are more things that can go along with these 3, but I will leave that up to you!

     The only one I haven't mentioned is "despisers of good". I guess I could have left it in the above paragraph because in all reality people that choose to do any of the above tend to despise, belittle, condemn and destroy good. We have seen so many riots and mobs and destruction caused by people who condemn good. But again, sadly, this type of people cannot handle good because they are so filled with hate that they have to turn that hate to someone else. They are the ones who allowed themselves to be brought down low by the choices they have made and Satan has them in chains. And so they use their self-hate to  blame everything on others and they think it will make them feel better. It doesn't and the hate continues to grow and control them!

     And thus we can see that society is fulfilling Timothy's prophesies of our day. BUT I do not want to end on a bad note. We can certainly see all the negative prophesies coming to pass, but in some ways that can give us hope. Why? Because we know that when it gets bad enough we will be anticipating the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to destroy all wickedness and set things right. So, my dear friends, let us hold together in righteousness, love and unity according to the Lord's teachings and we will someday see all the sad, sorrowful wickedness gone and we will be able to truly live with love, respect, peace, and good will to each and every one.
