Second to the Last Timothy
I have tons of thoughts and things to share on my blogs, but I DO want to finish up with my thinking about Timothy . . . the Timothy in the New Testament and his prophesies of what our days would be like. So far, if anyone has read the previous ones it would be nearly impossible not to see them coming true all over the place. So today I am going to just mention a few more and hope, you too, can see so very clearly how these sadly "bad prophesies" are coming true all around us. So moving on!
Again, I am not following the order in which Timothy talks about them, but grouping them by similarity to the character, so to speak. Just as a refresher, he says, "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come."; then he goes on with characteristics of wickedness that we should be aware of. Today I want to discuss trucebreakers, false accusers, fierce and traitors. Do not these sound like they should go together? Why? Well, to put it simply, a traitor is someone who breaks trust BIG TIME with someone else. Once someone has betrayed you it is super hard to ever trust them again. And the broken trust can be from many broken promises (trucebreakers) to falsehoods told about you (false accusers) and many times it is done in a fierceness that is just beyond words to describe.
How many times nowadays do we see broken promises all around us? Broken contracts? I remember in the good old days when a handshake sealed a bargain and it was carried out fully. Now a handshake means nothing and unless you have an agreement written down and signed by legal means you don't have a leg to stand on, especially if that so called friend, partner, companion, etc. decides that they are going to take you to court. And those types of people will find other people to accuse you falsely, for all they are worth, with a fierceness that you will find hard to believe.
Don't believe it? Just listen to the news! Watch TV shows! Listen to what is going on around the world. Sadly there seems to be no trust anymore! There is always the chance that you could be betrayed by someone you love and respect. As hard as that may be we need to live above these things. We need to live so clean and upright that it would take digging down mountains to find the means to accuse us of these wrong things. As another scripture says, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) Yes, the bad prophesies are coming true all around us, BUT let us be a part of the good prophecies and live to be "beyond reproach"!!!
