The Marriage Cake

      Making a successful scratch cake!

To make a successful scratch cake takes work, effort, understanding, knowledge and practice.

First off you need to find a recipe and then get all the right ingredients with the correct measurements put together in the right procedure. So let’s see how that goes so far!

SIMPLE WHITE CAKE

Ingredients: 1 cup white sugar

                    ½ cup unsalted butter

                    2 large eggs

                    2 teaspoons vanilla extract

                    1 ½ cups all purpose flour

                    1 ¾ teaspoons baking powder

                    ½ cup milk

Step one: Gather all the ingredients. (And now let us move on with the actual process!)

Step 2: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9-inch square cake pan.

Step 3: Cream sugar and butter together in a mixing bowl. Add eggs, one at a time, beating briefly after each addition. Mix in vanilla.

Step 4: Combine flour and baking powder in a separate bowl. Add to the wet ingredients and mix well. Add milk and stir until smooth.

Step 5: Pour batter into the prepared cake pan.

Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven until the top springs back when lightly touched, 30 to 40 minutes.

Step 7: Remove from the oven and cool completely (A 10-inch round pan will produce similar results. To make cupcakes, line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners. Divide batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, and bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.)

And what is a cake without frosting? Although basic frosting is fairly easy compared to the cake!

Ingredients:

1 cup powdered sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla

1-2 tablespoons milk

Step 1: Mix powdered sugar, vanilla and milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until spreadable (mixture will thicken slightly while it sets). Spread on your cake and that’s it!!!

                   1 ½ cups of rock-solid commitment

                  1 ¾ teaspoons understanding

                   ½ cup true forgiveness

Frosting: 1 cup affection

               ½ teaspoon Intimacy

               1-2 tablespoons Love

Step 1: Gathering all of these ingredients IS part of the actual process - from each person.

Step 2: Preheat by seeking the Lord’s Spirit individually and as a couple. Prayer and scripture                               

             study protects and strengthens your home whether it is a large square home, a modest  

             round home or even a small shanty.

Step 3: Communication and respect need to be mixed together well. Then add kindness and 

            consideration mixed with lots of patience.

 Step 4: Mix understanding with that rock-solid commitment and add it to the result of steps 2 

             and 3.

Step 5: Pour this strong mixture into your home and spread it evenly throughout not leaving 

            a corner untouched.

Step 6: Be sure things stay warm by focusing on the overall big picture of the future and how it 

             can be. And remember that light touches of one another’s spirit helps you spring back

             no matter what happens. 

Step 7: ALWAYS remove any unwanted heat and let things cool down before applying frosting.

Frosting: These 3 ingredients together make a natural covering for the work that is put into the 

                Marriage: Affection, love and intimacy become a natural desire that completes

                all the other work required for a successful marriage.
