"Putting Into Port . . . For a Second"
Yes, we will continue our "Relation Ship" voyage, but I wanted to put into port for just a bit because I had another thought about the 4 most important crew members I selected in my blog last week. The thought still includes my 4 crew members and me, but in a little different light.
To begin with I saw myself in the middle of a square and the 4 beings that made the sides were my 4 top crew members. Hopefully you can see this in your mind as I try to describe it. The north is always up and since we want to go up, the being, who for me is that protective north wall is Jesus Christ, my Savior. He is in front and leads the way for me, and each of us, to follow. He is the light that lights our way and so He needs to be in front. On my left, which is His right is my Heavenly Father, holding my hand to help keep me safe, guided and protected and holding my right hand is my Heavenly Mother doing the same for the east side of the square as Heavenly Father does on the west. Is this not what good parents do while out walking with their young child? And right behind us is the Holy Ghost, forming the south side of the square. Why is he behind me, do you ask? Because he is the one that gives me a kick in the pants once in a while to wake me up and help me remember to do the right things. I just saw this so clearly as I thought about it, but my explanation may not be as clear. A picture would certainly do wonders for clarity. But imagining how each member of this square is there doing their part to help keep me safe and walking the right path just seemed too awesome to not share.
Another thought that went along with this is that these four protectors do not force themselves on us. IF I choose to let go of their hands and leave the square, the consequences are on me. But if I do I will be exposed to every danger out there and no one to help protect and guide me UNLESS I find my way back in and stay there.
Compare this to a horse in a corral that seems to think that the grass is greener if he can just get out of that protectvie corral. IT IS protective, but he doesn't realize that. He just sees all that grass over there and wants to satisfy his appetite for it. What he doesn't realize when he does get out is that cars, trucks, slick roads, dogs, and so many other things are a danger to him. And even if he makes it safely over there to eat that grass, he doesn't know if it's been sprayed with something he shouldn't eat! Even if it hasn't, he may overeat and end up with all kinds of health issues that can lead to being crippled or even to his death. Are WE any different when we leave the safety of our corral or square? Those 4 fence lines keep the horse safe from so many dangers. Are our 4 defensive lines of God the Father, Heavenly Mother, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost any different? Really think about it, especially if you are looking at the green grass on the other side.
