If He Can, Why Should I?

      God is all powerful and fully capable of doing all things, so why does He require things of us? May I take just a moment to compare that to being parents? Why should parents give their children responsibilities? Is it not OUR responsibility, as parents, to teach our children so that they can learn to become strong responsible adults and carry on in this world? So just as good caring parents give their children jobs, chores, and responsibilities so they learn to take care of themselves in the best possible way they can AND later teach their own children, God gives us jobs to do. And He gives us these things to help us learn and grow and become like Him. Just like a parent who does everything for their child is not helping the child in any way, the Lord, if He did everything for us, would not be doing us any favors. So what He asks of us will not always be easy, in fact, it seldom is, but if we contiue to try, doing our best and we don't give up someday we will get it right. And just like our children growing into good, upright, responsible adults, we will grow into  what our Heavenly Father sent us here for . . . to become like Him. Yes, to become Gods and follow in His footsteps for eternity!!!
