Sttill Climbing
I DO hope you are still climbing that mountain we talked about in my last blog! And I hope you are doing so successfully, no matter how slow you may be doing so OR no matter how many obstacles are getting in your way! Just keep going. But I would like to add another thought to this climb of yours; I guess to our climb really, for, yes, I am still climbing my mountain as well. Aren't we all in this together? And that brings me to my thought. IF we are all in this uphill climb in life then wouldn't, couldn't and shouldn't we be helping one another? I mean wouldn't it be nice of us to make sure we mark the path for those behind us? Or maybe even move a few of the obstacles that barred our way in order to have a clearer path for those following behind? Wouldn't YOU appreciate someone doing that for you? And couldn't we afford to take a little time to maybe help someone over that big boulder, talk them out of a bad position on the trail, give them a hand to pull them along for a bit or even just a kind word and a pat on the back? Could you appreciate that kind of help in your climb? And if we are being truthful about this climb SHOULDN'T we be helping others who are climbing as well? After all hasn't the Lord set the example of helping others all along the way? And didn't He say "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."? This uphill climb is not a breeze for anyone, but having others to help clear the path for those behind, or someone to walk with you for a bit or to call down to you words of encouragement, isn't that what makes this journey worth it? It's not a race to see who gets to the top first! It's not a competition to see who we can beat or kick out of the race! This is the race of life and waiting at the top are so many of our loved ones that are cheering us on and when we reach the top will take us in their arms and hold us tight because we did not quit, we made it and along the way we helped as many as we could to make it as well. And then the Lord will be able to say to each of us, "Well, done, my child, welcome home!"
