Continuing with Mountains

Last week's blog was about ascending those tough mountains of trials no matter how slow we do so! Well, wouldn't you know it? I had one of those weeks! I felt overwhelmed with so many things to do that I just wanted to curl up in that warm snuggly blanket and forget life. And to tell you the truth, I actually did on Wednesday, BUT that is because added on top of the overwhelmingness of the week I felt totally physically awful. I had not felt that yuck in a long long time. But slowly I was able to crawl out from under that blanket and as the week progressed so did I, physically. The mental overwhelmed part was still struggling, but I had a few thoughts come to help me out. Number one was my thought in the blog of "as long as I am moving forward it doesn't matter if it is crawling shakily along, I am still moving." Then a scripture came to mind as well from the Book of Mormon, Mosiah 4:27 "And see that all these things are done in wisdom and order; for it is not requisite that a man should run faster than he has strength. And again, it is expedient that he should be diligent, that thereby he might win the prize; therefore, all things must be done in order." The Lord does not require us to push so hard we destroy ourselves.  He wants us to keep moving forward diligently, but using wisdom so we don't end up not being able to do anything. He recognizes the fact that, for now, we are only mortal. and that our bodies can only do so much, our minds can only handle so much and our hearts can only deal with so much at a time.  He NEVER gives us more than we can handle! He has also told us to take the time to relax, unwind, regroup, and  organize ourselves so we can start climbing again. And then as I was sharing some thoughts with family members and friends on Friday I ran into this thought along the line of step by step. "At the begining, there was much to do, but by whittling away, the tasks became few." Again, just keep moving, BUT remember to take necessary rejuvenating breaks that can help pull you together again. After all when you reach the top of your mountain you should take the time to enjoy the beautiful scenery, thank the Lord for giving you the mountain you just beat and allowing you to see the beauty around you. And as you take that positive rejuvenating time to pull you back together you will be much more prepared and ready to start up the next mountain that the Lord gives you!!!
