Roadsigns for Life

     How many of you would like to drive somewhere with no stop signs or stop lights? No addresses posted? No caution signs? No roadsigns of any kind? Would you be able to drive safely to your destination? Now if you were the only car on the road ever and were careful and alert you might make it to where you planned to go.  Course with no directions to indicate where you were that could be tough as well. But consider driving in a huge city, a busy freeway or even some bumpy country road full of holes and rocks that seems to go on forever? Think of the mass of confusion! The tons of accidents! The total chaos! Would any of us ever want to travel or even leave the security of our home? Because even trying to cross a street to go visit the neighbor could be deadly! Okay, so the conclusion is that even though sometimes we don't like all the rules we have to follow when driving, they are tons better than having none at all. They keep us safer, get us where we are going, and make travel just tons less stressful! 

     God's commandments are much like roadsigns. His commandments steer us clear of so many accidents that could occur. His commandments can help us avoid confusion, potholes in the road of life and even get us moving along those long empty roads that seem to go on forever. And His commandments CAN direct us in the way to a final destination of peace, joy and happiness. He gives these commandments for the very purpose of helping us steer carefully and securely through the roads of life. And just like roadsigns, perhaps you don't like obeying the commandments, but they are guaranteed to guide you aright, take so much stress out of your life's journey and get you to your final destination safely!
