A Tad More Timothy
Again a few things to look at as we consider if ancient prophecies are coming true. And, again, these are taken from the New Testament in the book of Timothy chapter 3 verses 1-7. Today I want to just focus on a three that can tie in together because in many ways they build on one another.
First "disobedient to parents"! Do we see this anywhere nowadays? I guess I should ask that in "Where don't you see it nowadays?!" It is all around us. Teachers and people who work in the schools see it more and more. We see it in sporting events!Just anywhere you see a bunch of kids you will see those who are disobedient to not only parents, but any authority whatsoever. And why is that? Much of that can go along with another thing mentioned in Timothy.
"Without natural affection"! And what does that mean? Well, it means that many parents do not naturally love their children. They have kids for welfare purposes, they have kids because that's what you do when you get married, they have kids so later they can be servants or slaves to the parents. And sad, but true, they have kids so they can sell them for further income to their miserable lives. There are tons of reasons, other than the only true and positive reason which is: we have children because we love them and want to have a happy family. There is evidence in every spot you look around you to show that children are not loved nor wanted by their parents. And without that sincere love and desire for their children to grow in a loving caring environment, those children do anything and everything they can to get attention of any kind. And that usually ends up being disobedient to parents AND any other person in authority. It's not hard to see it every where you look! And it is so very sad to see a beautiful little baby suffer through parents who could care less about them and they grow up so stunted in nearly every aspect of their lives!
Another aspect that goes along with this is "unthankful" because those parents ARE unthankful for the beautiful children they brought into this world. And as they demonstrate that unthankfulness those children grow up with the same unthankfulness for parents who have been horrible examples of what is good and right!!! And they seldom find anything in the world to be thankful for!
These three things together add up to a world with much pain, sorrow, unrest, hate and just a mess of things. And it is so sad, BUT we were warned centuries ago and even now we are still being warned and told we need to strengthen our families with love, kindness, consideration, forgiveness, and all the good things that Christ taught by His words and His example. Even though this prophesy is coming true, let us do our part to not to fall into that trap. Let us be examples of what the Lord has asked us to be loving and caring for our children, our friends, our neighbors! Let us be examples of thankfulness for what we do have even if it isn't everything we want because changing our attitudes about our lives and those we love can make a huge difference!!! Let's fight this together and come out ahead so that when the Savior returns we will be ready and waiting for that glorious day with hearts filled with love and gratitude!!!
