Give What?

     Another one of my favorite people in the Old Testament is Abraham! He was tested to the max, in my oponion! He was nearly sacrificed to false gods and the only one that stood up for him and helped him was God. Even his earthly father and family didn't! He left and went to a totally new place and even gave his nephew, Lot, the choice of the land they were in. He so desired to be a father and when he finally was blessed,  in his and his wife, Sarah's, old age, with a son that could fulfill all his hopes and dreams, and even those promised him by the Lord, he was given a huge test of faith!  He was asked to sacrifice this beloved son to the Lord. What faith this man Abraham had! He did not hesitate although I am sure it was breaking his heart. But there was something I heard a long time ago about Abraham and his faith. Heartbreaking as it was to sacrifice his son, he knew what God had promised him AND HE KNEW that somehow, if he was truly obedient to the Lord, ALL things would be made right according to the will of the Lord! And what could truly be greater than that?

     What are we willing to give up for God and the eternal joy that awaits His faithful sons and daughters?!?!?
