Favorite?!?!?!

      The next question I asked was, "Do you have a favorite book of scriptures?" Now that could be confusing because the books to me are the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. BUT there are also all of the names of books in the Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon and Pearl of Great Price. The Doctrine & Covenants gets us off the hook there since it is just in numbered sections. 

     So what am I asking in this question? Well, it could be the basic 5 books of scripture and/or could be your favorite books in the books. For me, my favorite over-all book is the New Testament and basically the 4 gospels; Matthew, Mark, Luke, & John. Why? Because as a kid our family did not have a TV, but we had a record player/stereo and my parents bought the record set "Journey to Bethany" which is a dramatized version of Christ's life, taken from the 4 gospels. I listened to them endlessly and it just built my love and testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ, so much, that nothing will replace that feeling. 

     Next in line would be the Book of Mormon and I have never seriously thought if there was a favorite book in it, but probably Third Nephi since it contains the visit of the resurrected Christ to the people on the American continent at that time!

     In the Old Testament I think my favorite book is Ruth! She is such a strong example for me! But there are also ones close to it. I love Proverbs for all the wisdom it shares in simple verses. Psalms is also right up there, although a bit more intense and complicated than Proverbs. I also like Genesis because of the historical factors of how the world came to be and moved on through various people and experiences we can learn from. And I like the books of Samuel as well. Daniel and Job also for the wonderful things we can learn from them

     I think I am about even on all of the books in the Pearl of Great Price although the history of Joseph Smith is definitely one that touches my heart and head very strongly!!
