A Burning Testimony

      Another of my favorite Book of Mormon persons is the prophet Abinidi! What a courageous man he was! I know that there are many people who have given their lives in defense of their testimonies and I honor them all; Abinidi is just one that I have always enjoyed reading his words and learning from. And because of him and his testimony, Alma the Elder was touched and left the wrong path he had been following to follow the right path and become a great leader as well. And since they are so closely associated I will tell you here that Alma the Elder is another of my favortie BOM people. I mean he accepted Abinidi's words and stood up for him and could have lost his own life. But because he hid out he was able to write Abindi's words. Otherwise we would not have them. And then he began teaching the people the words of Abinidi, which, of course, came from God! And many believed and were baptized. So it is hard for me to write about these two favorites separately because their lives and their testimonies were connected. They both had burning testimonies! Sadly Abinidi burned with his testimony, so to speak, but because of him, one man, Alma the Elder, was able to establish the Lord's church and help so many people. So they unknowingly worked together to bring about the purposes of the Lord! So awesome! Also helps me think that even one person can make such a difference in another's life and perhaps that difference can increase to other lives as well. So we need to do our part to help and serve others, as the Lord directs, for we never know who we may touch and bring closer to our Heavenly Father.
