Last Scripture Favorite, Sort of!
I have spent quite a bit of time sharing some of my favorite scripture people and although there are more, I did share my most favorites! However, the whole point of those blogs is to show that we can learn so much from people in the scriptures! I barely scraped the surface with what I loved and appreciated from the ones I have shared. We can learn from their desires, their choices, their experiences, and so on! The final one I want to mention is Joseph Smith. There is so much to learn from him. In fact, without him there would be a huge emptiness in so many lives; lives that choose to be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Personally, my life would be so empty without my testimony of the gospel and all it teaches me. I am grateful that a 14 year old boy thought seriously enough about the purpose of life, and wanting to join the true church of God, that he sought the Lord in earnest and sincere prayer. That alone is a huge example for us to follow: seek the answers we need in our lives from the Lord. We will not be answered as Joseph Smith was, but his answer was technically for all of us! For look at what became of the answer to his prayers!!! And it became what it has become because it is the true answer to the prayers of a 14 year old boy! Was he perfect? No! And he never professed to be! But he did all the things the Lord asked of him to the best of his ability! And in this I am ever so thankful for Joseph Smith's example, for the Lord only asks each of us to do the very best we can do of what He asks of us! And as we strive to do so we learn and grow and become what our Heavenly Father, our Heavenly Mother, and our Saviour Jesus Christ are hoping we will become!!!
